Beauty Pie – Silk Hair Ties with EVA Pouch

Beauty Pie is the new disruptor of the beauty industry with their innovative subscription-based members’ club. Offering luxury skincare and cosmetic ranges, their products are on par with the big brands of beauty… except there is a twist:  they offer members an exclusive price which is much lower than the ‘typical’ price. Due to this business model Beauty Pie have quickly obtained a large and loyal following.

For Christmas 2020, they asked if we could help them expand their gifting range to include some luxury silk accessories such as eye masks (found elsewhere on our site) and hair ties.

We started the process of producing the silk hair ties by sending the brief to our trusted Chinese silk factory, who then produced an initial plain sample for Beauty Pie to review the silk, size and quality.

The silk hair ties were made in the highest-grade 22-momme mulberry silk to provide their customers with the most premium product. Once approved, we provided branded samples with woven and printed tags sewn around each hair tie. After reviewing the samples, Beauty Pie decided that the printed tag was their preferred look.

As Beauty Pie wanted to sell the hair ties as a set, we also provided frosted EVA pouches for six hair ties to be packed into at a time. Each EVA pouch was printed with 1 colour artwork on the front and back and had a small metal chain attached to one corner.

In total 2,000 hair tie sets were ordered and delivered to the UK in time for their Christmas 2020 online launch. Since then, Beauty Pie have re-ordered the hair ties several times, increasing the quantity to 20,000 units to be split between their US and UK markets. We have also since added  a caramel-coloured hair tie to the collection.
