After working with Maxipos to produce rigid gift boxes for their luxury pyjama sets, Desmond & Dempsey asked Maxipos to help produce an eco-friendly custom envelope packaging; the envelope packaging was to be used for shipping some of their online purchases to consumers.
The main objective for this project was to move away from the standard, plastic mailer envelopes towards an environmentally friendly custom envelope packaging that retained Desmond & Dempsey’s values and luxury aesthetic.
Maxipos conducted a great deal of research to see what suitable materials were available in the mailer envelope market.
From our research we identified a Swedish supplier who provided the perfect solution as they were able to produce the mailer bag from FSC material. This meant that Desmond & Dempsey’s customers could be assured that the materials used in the mailer envelopes had been verified as responsibly sourced. As a bonus, the chosen material was also 100% recyclable.
In addition, the material of custom envelope packaging would be durable enough to withstand transit so that both mailer envelope and products arrived in pristine condition.
The custom envelope packaging were brought to life by one of Desmond & Dempsey’s iconic designs, printed in white on both sides of the 90gsm brown envelope. 10,000 units were produced and they have since proved to be hugely popular with Desmond and Dempsey’s customers.
